In the process of completing your look, you must have questions like ‘How long should the tail be drawn?’ ‘ How should they be shaped?’ ‘Which shade pencil or product to use?’. We will answer all the questions about brows in this article. Let us begin.

Tips for crafting your eyebrows

If you want to craft your eyebrows, our first tip would be to use proper tools. Here are some of the basic tools that you will be needing. You can choose them according to the type of look you desire.

Tools

  • A thin eyebrow pencil uses a light eyebrow pencil, which is less pigment dense and waxier than any eyeliner pencil.
  • A powder- choose a powder in the same shape as your eyebrow’s hair. The powder can be applied on your brows with a brow brush or comb, but make sure the brow brush is angled stiff-bristled or a large and soft one.
  • A powder cream or gel- just like the powder, you can also use a powder cream or gel with an angled, stiff-bristled brow brush.

The type of product you choose for crafting should be totally based on your preference for the look you are going for. If it is your first time making your brows, you should explore all options and see what you are the most comfortable with.

Technique

If shaping your brows seems like a difficult task for you, I would suggest hiring a professional to do so every so often. You can ask your friends or coworkers who have great eyebrows about where they get it done, or you can also search for the best professionals in your area. If you have thicker eyebrows or when your hair starts growing back in, you can give your brows a new shape by yourself by investing in a good tweezer.

Make sure to pluck only when your face is clean, thereby keeping the bacteria at bay by cleaning your tweezers with alcohol after every use. Pluck your hair out carefully as even one hair can make or break your perfect brow shape, so avoid plucking in dim light or any lousy lighting.

Steps for making your brows

Step 1: start with defining your brows at the arch and slowly stroking towards the tail. After that, go back and work on your inner third.

Step 2: start applying the product that you are going to use according to your look.

Step 3: leave some skin showing between your hair in the inner third of your brows as it looks even more natural and prettier.

Step 4: After you are all done, look closely in the mirror to see the finished product and then pull yourself back from the mirror and see if the shape suits you and if it is the right density and colour.

The DON’TS of brows shaping

  • DON’T use a magnifying mirror while you are doing anything with your brows. It is way too close and you might end up plucking out all your facial hairs in the process.
  • DON’T shave your eyebrows off completely. Unlike your leg hair, eyebrows do not grow back quickly. Sometimes, it might also take weeks to months for the hair to grow back fully and properly.
  • DON’T go too overboard with plucking your eyebrows with tweezers. If you keep plucking your eyebrows every other day, there is a risk of you plucking out the hair that you need to maintain the shape. If you keep tweezing your hair too much, your hair could become sparse overtime. Overplucking can result in long-term damage of hair follicles and uneven growth.

How to get perfect brows

Getting perfect eyebrows is actually a lot easier than you think. Here are a few steps that you can follow to get the perfect brows.

Grow them out

It is impossible to craft your eyebrows without a few sparse hairs. This is why you need to grow your eyebrows out and let them be thick before getting any tool to shape or tools involved to craft them. To grow your eyebrows, give them at least six weeks of time. It might not look very neat and nice in the meantime, but we promise that putting up with the busy and untidy hair will be worth it in the long run.

Use castor oil for eyebrows

The eyebrow hair growing out hair can be timely but we have a secret ingredient that will help boost its growth. Use castor oil. Apply castor oil on your eyebrows in the upward direction in the evening to speed up the hair growth.

Plan before plucking

Before you start plucking your brows to shape them, it is crucial that you plan the areas you wanna pluck. Remember that it is always better to under-do your brows so you can overdo them later. You can pluck more later but already plucked brows cannot be stuck back on.

Choose the right technique for you

Plucking, threading, or waxing? Which method is more suitable for you? There are pros and cons of each of them that we have briefly outlined below.

  • Waxing: unless you are skilled and brave, it is better if you hire a professional to wax your eyebrows. In case you have a sensitive skin, waxing can damage your skin so it is better you consider other options for waxing.
  • Threading: eyebrow threading is an immensely popular and most used technique for crafting your brows. Eyebrow threading gives neat and angular brows. Although, like waxing it can be painful too but unlike waxing it is gentle on your skin.
  • Tweezers: when you use tweezers, you can use it on your brows yourself. It is not painful at all and it is free to use whenever you wish once you have bought it. The only drawback of using a tweezer is that it is time consuming and you have to do it yourself.
