L-Theanine is an amino acid which is primarily found in tea leaves. It is not only responsible for characteristic taste of green tea but is also an active green tea component responsible for promoting relaxation. In fact, L-theanine is the ingredient in tea that makes it so relaxing. L-theanine relaxes the brain without causing drowsiness. It enhances alpha brain wave activity in the brain that help calm it down but keep it alert.
L-theanine may also support healthy cellular function as well as provide premenstrual support to women including healthy attitude. It may also moderate the effects of caffeine on the central nervous system.
Pure Encapsulations L-Theanine provides this amino acid as Suntheanine, the form of the amino acid that has been most extensively studied.
