Pure Encapsulations Indole-3-Carbinol is formulated to provide I3C to the body. I3C (indole-3-carbinol) is a phytochemical that is found in high amounts in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and others. I3C performs multiple functions in the body.
I3C provides antioxidant support and works as free radical scavenger. Free radicals can damage your body. I3C promotes liver function and play an important part in removal of toxins.
Indole-3-Carbinol supports the function of healthy breast cells and supports cervical cell health. When ingested in the body, I3C is converted into DIM (diindolylmethane) and then absorbed in small intestine. DIM binds with estrogen receptors to block them and thus promotes hormonal balance. An estrogen imbalance may be especially problematic for women since it may harm cells in the cervix and breasts. Sufficient intake of I3C reduces these risks for women.
Men also get benefited from I3C intake as estrogen imbalance in men can cause prostate problems.
