Douglas Laboratories Cape Aloe supplies 250 mg of Cape Aloe (Aloe ferox) latex leaf powder in each capsule. Cape Aloe latex provides bowel regularity and is indicated for occasional or short-term use. Aloe is a native plant of Africa that has been traditionally used as a topical preparation for burns and wounds. The thick mucilaginous juice found inside the leaves is thought to have a cooling, soothing effect on the skin. The juice, when taken internally, is thought to play important roles in supporting the gastrointestinal system and proper bowel maintenance.
