Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli brussel sprouts kale and others contain a special compound Indole-3-carbinol (I3C). During digestion process, when this compound comes into contact with gastric acid, I3C is converted to various compounds, predominantly DIM (diindolylmethane). DIM helps in several body functions. It supports healthy cell cycle, allowing the cells to grow mature and perform their required functions effectively, as well as cell signaling (transmission of molecular signals from a cell's exterior to its interior. Signals received by cells must be transmitted effectively into the cell to ensure an appropriate response) to support breast, cervical and prostate cell health.
Diindolylmethane in its pure form is highly insoluble. Patented, microencapsulated BioResponse DIM has been specially developed for enhanced absorption. This form may be more supportive than I3C in cases of low gastric acidity.
