We source it from from sustainable, freshwater farms. This technique now used is known as levigation, where high grade pearl is ground in water using a circular motion until the fine powder becomes suspended in water. Once the water is removed, it is separated from the powder from non-suspended heavier powder. More water is added and this process is continues until all the pearl is extracted (goes into suspension).
