Its warm, sweet and green scent results from its combination of herbal, fresh, , spicy and citrus accords. Like the first version of this cologne, it starts off with top notes of bergamot and lemon enhanced by lavender. The middle notes pair up sage and thyme, and the blend ends with base notes of vetiver, and patchouli. Although Roger & Gallet did not enter the perfumery business until the 1860s, these business partners inherited a legacy from the line’s original creator, Jean Marie Farina. The French perfume master released his first scent, Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille, in 1806. Before selling his business, he produced several fragrances and soaps. Post-purchase releases include Lavender Royale in 1899, Le Jade in 1923 and Blue Carnation in 1937. The latest of its more than 40 scents includes 2018’s Feuille de Figuier.
