xSpan Labs Evening Primrose Oil 1000mg vegan soft gels are cold pressed, have a high GLA formulation with added Vitamin E and absolutely no GMOs. Evening primrose oil (EPO) is obtained from the seeds of evening primrose plant. It contains a special fatty acid called gamma linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is one of the omega 6 fatty acids and is required by the body to produce substances known as prostaglandins which are important for our health. Prostaglandins affect the immune system, circulation and menstrual cycles. Both lifestyle and psychological factors (such as stress, over consumption of alcohol, unhealthy diets, viruses, etc) can hinder the body's production of GLA.
