Description
Nicotinamide (or Niacinamide) is the amide form of vitamin B3 – Nicotinic acid (Niacin). This form does not have the vasodilating action of niacin (and no niacin flush*) and acts differently. Nicotinamide, apart from other functions in the body, is vital for the production of Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD and its oxidised form NAD+) – a vitamin B3-coenzyme found in all living cells which is crucial for life itself. Suggested dosage is 1 capsule a day, which works for most of the persons, although this can be safely increased to 2 capsules a day. Nicotinamide should not be used in doses higher than 3000mg/day. Product is available in packs of 90 and 180 vegan capsules. *In rare cases amide form of B3 can cause flush in persons with individual predisposition to rapid nicotinamide hydrolysis to nicotinic acid (approx. 3-5% population), especially when taken on an empty stomach.
