ActivHeal® Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing is a sterile wound dressing, which provides a moist wound healing environment. This absorbent dressing is designed for moderately to heavily exuding wounds. The soft flexible nature of the dressing allows it to conform easily. Dry the surrounding areas of the wound thoroughly before dressing application. Dressing Application 1. Select a size of ActivHeal® Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing where the foam pad is slightly larger than the wound. 2. The foam pad size should be such that it extends well beyond the open wound at (least 0.75” [2cm]) in all directions. 3. Remove the release liners from the wound dressing, avoid touching the central part of the dressing that will be placed directly onto the wound. 4. Centre the dressing on the wound and apply it gently to the wound site.

Activheal Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing contains the substance polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB, polihexanide), and provides a barrier to bacterial penetration through the dressing and prevents colonization and proliferation of bacteria within the dressing while in use for up to 7 days.
Activheal Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing, when tested in-vitro has been demonstrated to be effective against the following bacteria and yeast challenge organisms within the dressing: MRSA, Streptococcus pyogenes, VRE, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Serratia marcescens, and Candida albicans.
Activheal Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing is semi-occlusive allowing the exchange of gases such as oxygen and water vapour. The perforations in the wound contact layer allow the uptake of exudate.
Activheal Silicone PHMB Foam Wound Dressing can be repositioned during application or lifted during wear time for observation.
